This hiking vacation in the Bavarian mountains is a self-guided hike and also a guided hike graded a level 2. Zugspitze belongs to the best known summits of the Alps and can be quite easily climbed by cable car. View these beautiful mountains from different angles and explore beautiful hiking territory. Adventurous and sensational crossing of gorges, thundering waters leaving unforgettable impressions on all walkers looking to take away stunning memories form Germany. On both sides of Wetterstein Massif you find pretty places for tranquil nights.

This is a varied walking tour, requiring good basic stamina, so some form of fitness is required. You walk on well-kept hiking paths and partly on forest roads for a varied scenery. Any considerable changes in altitude are covered by transfers or cable car. Daily walking times of a maximum of 5 comfortable hours make for a walk that is easy enough and fun for anyone of all levels and ability. As far as possible each day also a more challenging option is offered, reaching into higher mountain territory for the more fit and adventurous walker.

Day 2 Through the gorge Partnachklamm and past flower meadows to Mittenwald/Klais – 9.5 miles 15.2 km, 5 hours , +750m
Day 3 Geisterklamm (Ghost Gorge) and Leutasch Valley – 8.5 miles , 13.6 km , 4 hours
Day 4 Rest Day or Lake Walk – 5.2 miles , 8.6 km , 3 hours , +300m
Day 5 Paradise Gaistal Valley – 8.7 miles , 13.9 km , 5.5 hours , +500m
Day 6 Sharp past Zugspitze to Lake Eibsee – 7.5 miles , 12 km , 4 hours , +500m
Day 7 Departure

Trips with easy day walks are interspersed with more strenuous sections. Four to five hours walking per day ( excluding breaks ) in hilly to mountainous areas using well kept but sometimes stoney paths.
