List of Routes in Switzerland

Lucerne – Engelberg

Step into the heart of Switzerland and spend 5 wonderful days of walking from Lucerne to Engelberg. Beautiful Lake Lucerne lies glistening amid a protective ring of spectacular, snow-capped mountains in the center of the Swiss Alps. The pretty villages that dot the shores are served by the many steamers that have long carried passengers across these blue waters, providing vital communication and linking them with the elegant city of Lucerne that sits at the head of one of the lake’s many inlets.

We recommend to stay in 4* Romantik Hotel Wilden Mann in Lucerne for 2 nights. It is located close to the city’s famous bridge, the Kapellbrücke, and has been beautifully converted from several 16th-century townhouses. The interior is pretty and atmospheric, and you can choose to have a meal in the hotel’s own superb restaurants or in one of the city’s many dining places.

After exploring historic Lucerne or taking a trip across this beautiful lake, you travel right into the heart of the mountains, where with the help of cable cars you can walk at the high-altitude. The landscapes here are surprisingly varied and, in late June and throughout July, the flowers are blooming, while September is a favourite time for walkers.

Spend 2 nights at the 3* Hotel Edelweiss in Engelberg. This Art Nouveau hotel, built at the start of the 20th century, sits on a sunny slope enjoying a spectacular panorama across the village to the ring of surrounding mountains. Bedrooms, many of which have balconies, are comfortable and peaceful, while the hotel’s facilities include spacious lounges, a bar, a sauna and an outdoor hot tub.

Secret Goms Valley Walk

Are you dreaming about a romantic but adventurous holiday for you and your beloved one? Then choose a Secret Goms Valley walk and get ready to explore the high peaks of Alps, taste great vegetarian meal options, admire nature and observe wildlife. This route is a self-guided walking for 7 nights from hotel-to-hotel.

During this fabulously scenic independent walking holiday explore the undiscovered Goms Valley in Southern Switzerland close to the Italian border. A long-time favourite with Swiss hikers, it’s a region of outstanding natural beauty and, during your week, you will see some spectacular sites: majestic snowy mountains, thundering waterfalls and the Aletsch, Europe’s longest glacier. Besides, along with the nature beauty, you’ll get to see Gothic churches, Baroque chapels, beautiful mountain shrines and charming wooden villages bedecked with flowers.

The well-marked paths alongside the infant River Rhone will be at your service. The River Rhone gushes between wooden bridges on its way to Lake Geneva – look out for marmots, red starts and golden eagles circling above. To make easier route for you, choose the superb mountain transport system – cable cars, chairlifts and the bright scarlet Matterhorn Gottard Bahn. It will allow you to choose walking distances according to your sense of wellbeing each day.

The places where you’ll be staying are as special as their surroundings and you’ll taste superb cuisine every evening. You’re sure to appreciate the contrasts between mouthwatering Valais cuisine in Obergesteln and the artistic creations of expert chef in Blitzingen.
