This Welsh self-guided walking holiday hikes through some of the highlights of Wales and is a great introduction to walking holidays in Wales and the UK.
The Glyndwr’s Way tour walks through some of Wales’ most spectacular landscapes full of wildlife and heritage and The Welshpool and Llanfair Light Steam Railway is on route, one of Wales’ great little steam railways.
Glyndwr’s Way is the youngest of Wales’ three National Walking Trails, others being Offa’s Dyke Path and The Pembrokeshire Coast Path. The walking holiday begins on the English border, and traverses open moorland, farmland and forest en-route to Machynlleth, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. Then you walk eastwards and inland again, hiking past beautiful Lake Vyrnwy with its outstanding and in many ways incomparable picturesque scenery, to finish the Glyndwr’s Way walking holiday in Welshpool.
